Providing vital supplies for generations
Like the rest of the KNI group, Polaroil can trace its history back to the foundation of the Royal Greenland Trade Department (KGH) in 1774.
In 1948 KNI (then KGH) set up its first tank installation in Aasiaat, followed in 1949 by Qaqortoq, Nuuk and Sisimiut. In 1950, Paamiut, Qeqertarsuaq, Upernavik and Thule (Uummannaq) received tank installations. In 1950 the Greenland Oil Company (DGO) was founded and established an import warehouse in Kangerluarsoruseq.
As part of the KNI Group, Polaroil is today a modern organisation with a dense nationwide distribution system and a well-functioning international network of partners.
